Ladies Rise Up and Rock launches inaugural concert in San Francisco

NASHVILLE, TN — January 8, 2013  Ladies who rock are the subject of an event positioned to raise awareness for female indie artists while raising money for Grammy in the Schools in a concert featuring women making their mark in music. Ladies Rise Up and Rock is slated for Saturday, March 23, in San Francisco’s Regency Center, The Lodge, located at 1290 Sutter Street at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $24 and limited VIP tickets are $40 by visiting http://theregencyballroom.com  or calling (415) 673-5716.

The live music event features San Francisco’s instrumental rockers, the Gretchen Menn Trio; Los Angeles folk/pop duo, The Wellspring; and Kiwi Time a female-fronted rock, pop, funk four-piece also from the Bay Area. The event will be emceed by Los Angeles comedian, Samantha Hale.

Inspired by a conversation with legendary songwriter, JD Souther, Carl Mancuso of Upswing Public Relations envisions the potential to stage concerts in major music markets throughout the country featuring established and emerging women who’ve made a name for themselves in music while providing educational funds benefiting Grammy in the Schools.

The confluence of culture, education, and collaboration is a mainstream approach to showcasing some of the best female indie talent on the market. Young women in pursuit of a music career are encouraged to attend Ladies Rise Up and Rock supporting a program that ultimately supports them.
