Write Rite, Alright?

eye-magnifying-glass

Whether you’re a songwriter, author, journalist, poet, blogger, publicist or any combination thereof — writing every day is a part of a disciplined routine. These are literate art forms that must be practiced daily to remain sharp, cutting like butter through the blizzard of white noise.

I kind of  see the value in consistent blog posts. Once a day every week day (weekends aren’t allowed)  should show a pattern of something — and I’m learning a few things.

One,  interesting topics are a subjective matter.

Writers are tortured minds.  Hitting perfection on a regular basis is brilliant, who can do this everyday? Their own harshest critics, writers see a reflection of their daily lives down there in the soul of their words — provided of course, they can find them.

“And there was that poor sucker Flaubert rolling around on his floor for three days looking for the right word.”  ― Dorothy Parker

I find that when I think of a really good poem or story idea, I get a bit too excited to finish it. I tend to rush through it, and then what could have been an amazing piece ends up average, at best! Maybe it’s just me, though…:)

  2. Oh, God. TELL ME that you’re not actually going to write a blog a day for crying out loud, Janet. I’m going to kill you if you do. Not literally, don’t worry, but REALLY?? Must you? Aargh! Love Parker too. Right now, waaay more than thee! Teehee.
